Tagged!

I have been Tagged, how exciting. I haven't done anything quite like this before. Wonder what I can come up with.... :)

Your'e feeling:- Excited because I was thinking about doing the Thursday Thirteen and this might be just the push I needed to get started.

To your left:- Our lounge room window. I watch the black birds digging for worms with their little Orange beaks, when I take my eyes away from the computer that is.

On your mind:- Who is going to do those dishes sitting on the bench? Yeah you guessed, me! I pulled the short straw again.

Last meal included:- Dinner and it was steak and salad. Delicious and that is unusual because I eat an almost vegetarian diet. Once in a while red meat is good for the iron it supplies.

You sometimes find it hard to:- Un-wind, especially after work. It takes me at least an hour when I get home to lose that wired feeling and get sleepy. Sometimes two hours before I go to bed. Makes for a very long day.

The weather:- Early morning rain and cool. Afternoon sunshine, not a cloud in the sky and around 2o degrees centigrade. Right now a little chilly at 10.51pm Aus time. The leaves are turning red and gold - Autumn/Fall is already half over. I can't think about winter yet....too soon!

Something you have a collection of:- Now let me think, what do we have a lot of hmmm... Oh yeah, kids! We do have a lot of them, four have moved out but spend an amazing amount of time at our house considering it is not technically home anymore. Three girls still live at home, two teenagers who are counting the days till they can be independent and my little sweetheart who is seven and still very happy to be here. They all make up an amazing, living, breathing collection I am proud to say I am mom too.

A smell that cheers you up:- Someone Else's cooking. Doesn't matter what it is as long as I didn't have to prepare, cook or serve it up. I love the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans and freshly made coffee.

A smell that can ruin your mood:- Sneakers and yesterdays socks left around to surprise me and make my eyes water.

How long since you last shaved:- Last night before I went to work. Just when you don't want a guy to read your blog, bet one will.

Current state of your hair:- Very short, but still a lot longer than I usually wear it. Need to make time for the hairdresser. My hubby often complains, the poor guy has a passion for long hair. Not going to happen!

Largest thing on your desk/workspace (not computer):- Pile of dictionary's, six to be exact. One dated 1867, an original. A Dictionary of Dates, dated 1845, also an original. A crappy Thesaurus that is almost of no use to me at all. An old school dictionary that is an old friend. A German dictionary because my thirteen year old daughter needs it for school and it is my hubby's native tongue. And my Hebrew/English dictionary, because I love and know my way around that language some.

Your skill with chopsticks:- Quick bring me a fork before I starve.

Which section do you head for first in a bookstore:- Always start at the Romance section and work my way around to the thriller, horror/vampire rows. Lots of different types of books attract my attention and I love browsing book shops just appreciating the cover art work on the books.

Something you are craving:- I want a massage, yes that would be fantastic. That would have to be at the top of the list.

Your general thoughts on the presidential race:- One of the forums I am a member of had a silly pole; who would you sleep with Clinton or Obama. Gack - neither thank you!!

How many times have you been hospitalized this year:- None.

Favorite place to go for a quiet moment:- One of the many beautiful beaches 10 - 15 minutes from my home.

You've always secretly thought you'd be a good:- Midwife, I figured if I could be good at it one end, why not the other.

Something that freaks you out a little:- Being alone at night. Just before Christmas I spent my very first night alone, ever, in 35 years. I was still awake around 3.00 am.

Something you have eaten a little too much of lately:- Food!

You have never:- forgotten what it felt like to put my feet on foreign land for the first time.

You never want to:- Live my life over or be really young again. I like and am happy with right now.

The three people I'm tagging:- Dawn, Eden and Morgan

  2. This is fabulous! I love the little insights. The smell of food that someone else prepared cracked me up, and I completely agree. And don't feel bad about having to do the dishes - Seems that I pulled that same short straw. Funny how that works, isn't it?
