Red Poetry

Little Red Lights

Red Geraniums smile at me
Bright faces happy to be
Outside my door
Sad blossoms grace the floor

Buds of scarlet
Reach for the sun
In vivid excess
Dancing as one

Flaming flowers
Ignite in the light
Pulsing profusion
a vibrant riot

Dark Red

Dark red, the color of
Your lips

Dark red, the fire in
Your blood

Dark red, the color
Of your lust

Dark red, the embers
Of your passion

Dark red, the lingerie
On your floor

Dark red, the virgin
You are no more

Dark red, the roses
At your door

Red! The Innocent and the Sensual....

  1. Wow! These are great! I love the word pictures you paint. They're very tight and full of imagery. Yay!

  2. Excellent! As vibrant as the color itself!

  5. Love both of your poems, especially the second stanza of the first one, perfect!
The second poem was very visual-- hot in fact. So many 'connotations' for the color. Most of them do infer sex or passion don't they?
Lips, fire, lingerie, roses...the list goes on and on.
Love this new side to your work, it's fun to see you experiment.
