Thursday Thirteen 162nd Edition

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things about Eaton's week

1....My sweet little granddaughter, Frieda, was born one week ago.

2....I have been away from my husband and two teenage daughters for that whole time.

3....Hugging my beautiful granddaughter is holding a gift from God, pure and innocent.

4....My daughter, the new Mommy is more beautiful than ever before.

5....My son-in-law, was in my eyes, a good man and a loving husband. Now he is those things and a Daddy.

6....Same son-in-law, for the first few days he kept saying, 'We are really a family". Some days later he is saying, "What happened to sleep, are we ever going to sleep through the night again?"

7....That son-in-law is still a little in shock after the ordeal and exultation of the birth of his child.

8....Our seven year old daughter is staying with me at her big sister's home and getting lots of cuddles with her new baby niece.

9....Right now I can hear that beautiful baby crying, must be thirsty and hungry; again...

10...I don't think there is a sound more expressive of 'life', than that of a new Born's cry.

11...Watching my daughter during the labor and delivery moved me deeply. Wanting to help, to carry some of the pain for her, not being able to; was distressful and some.

12...I witnessed my girl in her most potent role as a woman and I delight in that.

13...Our family has grown to seventeen, the two of us, our seven children and eight grandchildren...three of that number have been born in under twelve months.

WOW! That was one very full week. :)

Happy TT :)

  2. LOL on the lack of sleep thing. My son woke up several times every night, waking both me and my dh for the first few month. 13 years later and I'm still sleep deprived.

  4. Congratulations on two beautiful new granddaughters! When I am holding my Elora all is right with the world...the most peaceful feeling ever!

It was a bit overwhelming for my daughter to deal with the lack of sleep but I am happy to be able to babysit during the days so that she can catch a few extra winks. There's no way to explain to a first time parents how much their life will change...they just have to experience it themselves. :)
