The day has turned bleak
like a leaf tossed to and fro in the wind.
Helplessly caught between sky and earth.
Blown off course, lost to a destination, alone,
directionless.
The moment gone - as is the leaf from the
parent tree, restlessly yearning for the
safety of its umbilicus: the nurturing warmth of connection.

The days are still sunny and warm, hot even and humid, but the change is in the air...the mornings are chilly and the dew on the grass is heavier. Most of all the air feels and smells different. Our trees haven't changed color yet, I'm looking forward to that - lots of potential photographs.
