Indian summer... Monday Potluck at Jingle Poetry

this morning around 2.00am
not long after you left -
I walked to that place in the garden
where the stars hang curiously low
kissing the blossoms that
brushed the top of my head

I stood in the grass
my feet bare
ankles damp with dew
thoughts wandering to and
fro across my memories -
for how long, I can't be sure

the breeze picked-up
brought me gently back
that’s when I saw our shadows
dancing in the moonlight
translucent
transformed

beset by unnamed emotions,
i wept

~~

For love and the wonder of writing. Happy Potluck everyone! Have a week of peace and joy, oh and...
Happy Thanksgiving for the 25th.  :))

farewell... Monday Potluck

A nuance of pain
indefinable in the
emptiness of
goodbye

Did we mirror each
other in the mutual
field of despair

No it was only my
desperate hope
that lingered in an
improbable moment

I searched but found
no sorrow in you

how sad

Silently I shed my tears
in a transcendent span of
pain

~~~
Emotions and feelings eh! Well not all of 'em are good ones, but they all make wonderful fodder for poetry.
Have a wonderful Monday, Potlucker's and a great, inspired week.
Lots of love,
Eaton.  :))
Monday Potluck ~ practical application...
birds of war hover
on metal wings
weighed down with
unspeakable things
incendiary eggs; one
for every two fragile
targets
Dresden Doll -  face
baked crystalline on the
wall; umbilicus sailed
through a window,
birth died in the fall
tattered filigree lace,
monument to the
manic moments of war
porcelain slivers
sliced open ruby lips
never again to meet
in a kiss
from inside the
Church on the Hill
'V' for Victory shouts
one man's thrill -
revenge,
decimate Dresden's lace
~ ~
The theme for this week is buildings, landmarks and monuments and I found this poem resting way back in my blog posts and it is about this weeks theme, just from a different point of view.
I wrote this piece after reading HERE, I didn't get very far into the article before this poem was born.
Have a wonderful Potluck writing and reading Monday y'all.  ;)
55 Flash Fiction Friday ~ Healing...
For more amazing, incredible 55 word marvels, visit G-Man at
Mr. Knowitall blog.
.
Stars fell into my eyes
I cried, blinded by the power
of creation in its luminary glory
my tears dripped one by one into a vial
at the foot of God’s throne -  stored there
for an Aeon, a time span unknown
and although I am small,
I am not lesser
nor am I alone.
~~
This was written for a dear friend who is very ill and at the time I wrote it we did not know how serious the illness is. This feels like a prayer and understanding that God is in charge no matter what is going on with us.
G-daddy and my favorite 55'ers have a wonderful Friday and weekend.
lots of love,
Eaton
