there you are...

basking in your own white light
don’t think i haven’t noticed your waxen face
harboring earth’s secrets behind your vacant expression
no mouth, no eyes, no tell-tale tongue

as often i gaze at your disinterested fullness
no enlightenment do I receive

dispassionately you watch
bound to earth in planetary orbit
offering intimate surroundings for lovers' trysts
in reality, giving nothing but a cool light

i know you don’t care
you’re a faceless, thoughtless, round ball in the night sky
pretty is as pretty does

and yet -

i find you comforting in your voiceless devotion

~ ~ ~

it' been a very long time since my last post, inspiration and time have been against me. Hope y'all enjoy this piece of poetry.

lots of love,

Eaton

  1. It's okay Shadow, so do I! Sometimes we just gotta write what's there inside...nothing we can do about it.
    Nice to see you. :))
