Merry Christmas...

It's 9.07pm in Melbourne as I'm typing. Christmas day is almost over on this side of the world. But for all my blogger friends and those of you who have become good friends apart from blogging...
May you have the merriest and sweetest Christmas of all.

I stumbled upon the photo above while searching for a Nativity scene to blog here. I think this is darn cute: In place of a card.

Of all the things I could wish you, I choose love! Love one another and peace to you all.

Enjoy your day everyone! Catch you when we get back to some serious blogging.

5 sleeps until Christmas Day...

Haiku Friday

Christmas busyness
things too many; dizzying
torn this way and that

enthusiasm waning
lost my reason for season
how to get it back?

It seems to me that the World has
lost sight of the meaning and message
of Christmas. The days leading up
to Christmas have be drowned in
meaningless advertising, rush and
bustle and a fever of purchasing.

I have lost my enthusiasm for the
world's variety of Christmas. So,
now I want to find my way back to
the peace that comes with the simple
reasons for the season. The birth of
the Savior of the world...Jesus.

Being able to write this helps
reaffirm what I believe. I do not
have to sell my soul to the merchandising
moguls of the world. I can still be just me.

Haiku Friday

Haiku Friday

Many thoughts, week full
people playing game of life
intense emotions

outside looking in
so many situations
all seeking something

lives in division
streaming many directions
each searching answers

unusual week
questions remain unanswered

Thursday Thirteen 174th Edition

Thursday Thirteen

just 13 things

1....Visit America, see all the places my friends live in and then some.

2....Hug my online friends in the flesh, man; that would be a whole lot of hugging.

3....Find and airline that doesn't want my money for the tickets to America, just a smile and a thank you...in my dreams!

4....Photograph places with amazing history and incredible natural attributes. That
would mean most of Australia and Europe, England, Ireland...um, the whole world.

5....Find the natural remedy for aging, stop it in its tracks and be eternally young inside and out.

6....Write something amazingly awesome and life changing for whoever read it.

7....Come to grips with some of my insecurities.

8....Remember daily stuff that is important, not get so carried away with all
the little spontaneous things that seem to keep cropping up. Ah, learn to read
the lists I write.

9....Listen to my kids more, take time to really hear what's on their minds and in their hearts.

10...Stop procrastinating...I'm so very good at that.

11...Be a Super housewife, always caught up with my work load ~shrugs~

12...Relax more! Appreciate the simple beauty around me.

13...Not dwell on mistakes I've made, or live in a state of regret. Learn and humbly move on; because life is way too short.

Dreaming keeps hope pumping through my veins.

Happy TT! :)

100 Word Stories - Blow Pops and Water

Here is my 100 Word story for prompt #137 at 100 Word Stories, go take a look at the other interpretations of the prompt...Blow Pops and Water. You can even vote for your favorite one.

Ten years old and full of mischief, Lara, wandered along the sidewalk with her lollipop jammed into her mouth. A Blow Pop to be exact. Temptation had greedily lured her into stealing money for the favored sweet. Her conscience pricking her just enough to take the edge of her blissful state.

Rounding the corner, her young body ran smack into a huge man. Looking up she saw a policeman. Her mouth opening on a shriek saw the coveted Blow Pop fall into a puddle of muddy looking water.

Instantly her mom's words, "crime doesn't pay", ran guiltily through her mind.

Innocence...

OH. SO. BEAUTIFUL!

As a fledgling photographer not all the photographs I take are fantastic ~ *sigh*, still learning. Not sure this one stacks up technically, but it is just too cute. :)

Thursday Thirteen 173rd Edition

Thirteen things about me, well not me; my tiny garden. I've been practicing with a new camera and the macro button lures me into taking close ups of all sorts of things. Mr. Bun E. Rabbit is a longstanding member of our family and beloved pet, he definitely had to get his cute face in here.

Then there's my poor cracked lady, not sure who is keeping who together there. Is the world holding her together or she doing the holding? Either way she's not in good shape. I managed to capture a bee inside a couple of fuchsias, first time I have noticed a bee in a flower for some time.

Tomatoes and one lonely apricot on the tree pretty much makes up the some total of our vegetable and fruit section. I did say this is a small garden. All the flowers in my garden are simple, easy to look after and brightly colored.

Geraniums, Daisies, Hibiscus, Camelias, Fuchsias are in full bloom and I love to see their dancing heads bobbing in the breeze. My favorite of all, the scarlet Geranium, gives me the most pleasure. I love those little scarlet petals. Red, the color of passion, life, love, danger...

Happy TT! :)

Some days...

Some days I just need these words...

Trust in the Lord
with all your heart.

Lean not on your
own understanding.

In all your ways
acknowledge Him,
and He will direct
your paths.

Proverbs 3:5

Simple words, easy words; yet the hardest thing to do!
