waiting impetuously around every corner
to fulfill dark promises made as day slips into black.
Glaring street lights see into every naked nook,
every infidelity - every nasty deed
insidiously swallowing the day’s spent light
and yet,
innocent, your beauty transforms the very night
that keeps your secrets.
