blackening the politic
of self restraint.

my very own daemons
with their shrill cadence
harassed me
drove me to run their race
play against the greater rhythm
adopt the lesser of decent value
live in the shadow of bad decisions
and yet- I better understand the driven
nature of humanity

their strategy of destruction funneled
into a strange discovery of self and salvation.
