Thursday Thirteen 157th Edition

Thirteen things about Eaton

Thoughts on friendship...what attributes make up the fabric of friendship?

1....Rapport: it has to be there for friendship to develop.

2....Empathy: everyone needs their feelings understood and their difficulties acknowledged.

3....Understanding: how good is it to know that we have been understood.

4....kindness: to receive a kindness makes the heart sing.

5....Benevolence: to show a kindness can be a blessing received as well as given.

6....Familiarity: the quality of being known. That someone would take the time to get to know us.

7....Fondness: lovely to know that a friend has a preference for your company.

8....Affection: heart warming that tender feelings are held toward us.

9....Affinity: to be identified with, I’m sure helps make us secure in who we are.

10...Compatibility: to exist in harmony, without conflict...utopia, nice thought though.

11...Acceptance: we can live without it, but it is so good to have from someone who really matters to us.

12...Trust: no relationship can survive without it.

13...Love: the basis for and the culmination of all the above attributes and the most sought after.

I can’t leave out what I consider to be the most important of all attributes necessary to ongoing friendships...

14...Forgiveness: As no one is perfect, we all need to forgive and be forgiven.

Happy TT :)

  1. Sooo true all of these attributes! I want to add one more: laughter! If you can´t laugh together there is something missing in friendship.
    Great post!
