Thursday Thirteen 167Tth Edition

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things about Eaton

I found this meme at...actually I didn't find it, Grace, from Sandier Pastures, brought it to me. I promised to do it last week, but ran out of time. So, here it is, Grace, enjoy!

15 years ago…I was living 45 minutes out of Melbourne, on a ten acre property, with my Husband and five children. The peace and quiet was magnificent, the gardens were like my very own secret getaway. We had a cat, two sheep, lots of chickens and a rabbit, (no surprise there, we LOVE rabbits). We thought we had all the time in the world to enjoy it.

10 years ago…We had sold our ten acres and moved a number of times, trying to work out what hubby was going to do with the rest of his life. Everyone was very unsettled and trying to fit into the new way of life ~ City Living! We have been living 14km from Melbourne all this time and now this is home. We all eventually got happy with our new lifestyles and I got a new baby girl, who is now Seven years old.

5 years ago…I was back at work, as a waitress in a huge, incredibly busy restaurant. I enjoy this kind of work very much, it is a physical and mental challenge. Sometimes it is a challenge to be nice to the customers, they can be tricky!

3 years ago…Our eldest daughter got married, 2 years ago...Our second son got married, 1 year ago...Our second daughter got married and they have all given us grandchildren. Our immedaite family, including hubby and myself, numbers twenty one people.

Yesterday, I wrote poetry, played Haiku tag and heard from two friends that mean a great deal to me.

Today, I am writing this TT meme, I posted a piece of poetry on a new poetry site SplasHall Poetry & Art Forum, I have to food shop and I want to write more poetry...and I have to work tonight.

Tomorrow, Ah yes, the day I have been waiting for! Hubby and I are going on a day trip to Central Victoria again, I am getting out my camera and I can't wait...have been looking forward to this event for two weeks, that was when I did this for the first time and created a new blog, Country Down Under, for the photos I took on that trip.

...and some of the Haiku I have been writing:

cerulean sky

desperate clouds dripping tears

precipitation'

secret obsession

stars unfolding mysteries

Illumination

clouds, swirling turmoil

dangerously raging storm

seeking sweet solace

breath on breath

love transcending

creation

Happy TT! :)

Love,

  1. What a great post. I had seen this on Grace´s blog as well and have mine almost ready to post. I really got to know lots of new things about you. Waitress huh? I was a waitress for a year too, and loved it.

  2. I tried to be a waitress a couple of times, but couldn't get anyone to hire me. I ended up a janitor instead. That was before I went into accounting, of course.

  3. Interesting stuff! I'll have to remember to do this one.
