on friday, compose a short story of 55 words - no more,
no less. if you want to join in the fun and give it a
try...post your story and report it to G-man
Lies will weigh you down,
the pretense to keep
them up-- too much
mouths don't want to speak it,
ears don't want to hear it, fear
and trepidation precede it
but
truth will break the spell of
lies that sear your lips
with red hot coals
and dance you like a
puppet on a string
~

ReplyDeleteWell played Eaton! It's nice to see the poets among us taking advantage of this style.
ReplyDeleteAnd even though this is clearly non-fiction (because truer words have never been spoken) I think you'll get no complaints from anyone about that detail.
The thing about lies and misinformation is that the subtle shift in reality always takes the turn, the curve in the road to come to the place that lies are not only recognized as truth but in fact they become the reality that they wanted to distort and that is the saddest thing about lies.
ReplyDeleteDoes a 55 word single sentence count?
