Day 20 Prompt: Rebirth
Winter wraps colorless
hands around days
turning them dull and gray
wind rain and snow beat
against frigid nights
as nature shivers
the elements play out
against one another in
tiresome repetition
while thoughts of sun filled
days flutter impatiently
waiting
winter reluctantly draws
back its shroud as spring
unrolls its velvet cloak
reviving and renewing
all in its wake
~~
Love,
'springs velvet cloak' how inspired!
ReplyDeleteSuch mature and full thoughts, you create such vivid imagery with such a few words, dear!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite passage was the elements play out against one another in tiresome repetition. Excellent. E
I'm so glad to finally be in the grip of Spring's velvet cloak.
ReplyDeleteWhen the shroud is lifted it will only be then that i will be convinced it was not a burial cloth. Snow in Detroit last night arggggggg!
ReplyDeleteLovely Eaton..and the photo is a fitting captur..I feel like I'm getting "spiked" with sun and a giving in..ha -a reluctance as you've described! I smile down at the sunflowers getting bigger but I fret over my zinnias..they don't like that much water! Have a wonderful eve-
