Five days into a 30/30 poetry challenge on The Tin Roof Alley Poets
I thought I knew
In the early morning light
everything looked bright
normal--like it was right.
I left love seemingly the same
slept, awoke and found it changed.
It was the same, the day before,
today, forevermore. At least I
thought it was; don't tell me anything else.
Love never comes to an end.
I forgot about the dark traces, hiding in stark places,
wounds whose stitching broke open
blurting hurts and seemingly easy dreams; my
humanity spoke with a roar.
If I let the pain fester, allow it to flow, how will I
grasp and hold fast. If I bury my treasure, will I become
shadow dancing between black cracks.
Love never comes to an end.
When I am no longer flesh and blood, will I be
flaming bitterness in a waterless place
or
Love that never comes to an end.
Love,
Your writing is astonishing....xoxoxo I hope all is well! :)
ReplyDeletewow. after a long silence, you're back with passion..... and no, love never ends. it changes, it grows, it morphs, it can swallow you whole, but it'll always be there.
ReplyDeleteI for one will opt to let the love found here be the former and the eternal the latter.
ReplyDeletesweet,
ReplyDeletemorning gives one hope and light,
beautiful poem with uplifting spirits.
Thanks for sharing.
Very well done, and the end was so perfect too... and one can never be the flaming bitterness who writes such passionate verse...
ReplyDeleteI liked the falling water picture of F L Wright at the last as I am into the designs (Interior designs), check out my blog for designs as one story on the design history I have put...
